Halo 3: Theatre

Halo 3 Theatre

Want your films or clips recorded in super high quality High Definition? Well, now’s your chance. We will offer to record your favourite Halo 3 clips in any resolution – from standard 480p to incredible 1080i so you don’t miss out on any detail.

We will be doing this for free, but please remember that we are not actually bots – we are human. That means we need up to 48 hours to fulfil your request (since we’re going to get a ton of requests in a very short space of time. However, we don’t plan on running this service free forever. Remember, there are high costs involved when it comes to server bandwidth especially when it comes to large file sizes from HD videos. We will be running a trial for 7 days in which all requests will be free.

So how does it work?
Simply send us an email at halo3clips@gmail.com with a link to your film clip on your Halo 3 fileshare.

A word of warning; we will not record clips which are not cut. This means we will not go through your clip to find the start and end points of recording. The whole clip must be exactly what you want included. Since our 7 day trial is completely free, we will only be recording up to 1 minute in length, no longer. Please also tell us which format you want your file in. The details on which formats we support are below along with how each format affects the quality of the video.

Which resolutions do you record at?
You have a choice of 3 resolutions to have your film clip recorded in. The options are as follows (starting from the highest resolution):

  • 1080i (1920 x 1080)
  • 720p (1280 x 720)
  • 480p (720 x 480)

Note: Depending on your computer’s specifications, some videos may stutter as bitrates of HD video can be quite high. If you think your PC will be unable to handle it, please choose either 720p or 480p.

Which codecs do you export to?
We give you a choice of 4 codecs from the following:

  • Xvid (.avi)
  • Divx (.avi)
  • Wmv (.wmv)
  • Uncompressed RGB (.avi)

The ‘wmv’ codec lowers the quality most and may reduce the effect of HD. However, the file sizes are the smallest. The Xvid and Divx codecs lower the quality very slightly and may not be very noticeable but the file sizes are larger. Uncompressed RGB is not strictly a codec. The quality is completely lossless but the file sizes are enormous. Due to the large file sizes, uncompressed RGB is only available on CD/DVD which will be shipped straight to your door. Also note, uncompressed RGB will only be available AFTER the 7 day trial period.
